Hello my name is Nathan Allen and I'm here today to ask if anyone knew my pawpaw. His name was Charles Edmond Rogers he lived in Northeast Georgia. He passed October of 2014 and I'm here to continue his legacy. You see most folks these days Dont understand what we do or why we do it but we do and we love it. That is being a proud chicken owner and shower. Growing up all my life I've woken up in the early mornings to the sounds of the most beautiful crows. That's what I heard when I got off the school bus and that's what I heard when I went to his house and played outside. At a younger age I grew up with the chickens just like most cockers did. I watched them eat watched them grow and watched them turn into families. I knew that these chickens were not just any ol farm chicken these were pawpaws chickens and best not be a dog, hawk nor any critter of that matter getting to his chickens and that buddy was a fact of life. When I got older it all started to come clear to me :) lol .... pawpaw was a very quiet person most of the time. He never talked to a bunch of people about his chickens just the select few. Most of those good men have passed on to the lord so i cant ask them about his way of doing.pawpaw went everywhere in the states but mostly South Carolina, Kentucky a bunch , Texas Louisiana and Alabama. He'd come home and memaw would always say did ya bring home the big money and we all would laugh because he always said he didn't but the trophies said otherwise. He always joked like that. This went on for many years until well ,,,,,it never stopped just didn't happen as often ,the showing part I mean. Yup those were the good days right. After paws passing his chickens which were of his kind "charlie rogers roosters" same blood for nearly 60 years he never got anyone elses chickens except from Texas and that only happened once. Well after his passing me maw sold AlMOST all of his chickens to pay for funeral arrangements etc but i did get to keep some I'm not saying what kind they are because he didn't tell a bunch of folks but I do have pictures and his trophies. I'm just asking today if anyone knows of him or his roosters please pm me for info
