Here's a few Game Cock Poems by my grandfather I promised! :)

It took me a little while to make these presentable - so 1st, I scanned some awesome lithographs from one of my grandfather's books and then had to meticulously copy his poems and work around the images then design a 'frame.' :)

Since I can't upload more than an 8kb image yet (hopefully this will change as I'm on here longer!!) I have done high resolution uploads to my Pinterest page for you to see in full detail! If the writing is too small, you can hold down your CTRL key and roll your mouse to zoom larger! Or if you're on a tablet or other smart device, you know you can do that thing on the screen with your fingers spreading apart and make it larger that way, lol.

I've only posted three. I have 100's. Keep in mind. These are copyrighted and All Rights Reserved. Now if someone would like a print, suitable for framing, I would redo the outer graphic 'frame' I have made and I can make these any size. Send me an email and I could quote you a price with shipping, depending on your location. coinclocks@hotmail.com

Thanks! So here go: (Just click on the title for each to see)

1. "A Game Cock." ©1968 by: Henry F. Rothwell

2. "Challenge." ©1971 by: Henry F. Rothwell

3. "When Game Chicken Sports Die." ©1961 by: Henry F. Rothwell.

The last poem I felt was truly poignant due to my grandfather's "prophecy" of the demise of this historical sport in the USA. Sad days when the political left has destroyed so many of our freedoms that our forefathers so enjoyed and condoned!!

I don't have the resources, otherwise I would love to have all of his works published! So over time, I will just release them piece by piece on here for the enjoyment of those who enjoy good cocking poetry! He also has some great stories of cock fights and derbies he entered over the years and spoke of the arena (or backwoods barns!) and the atmosphere. He loved his birds and the sport. He was a devoted man. I miss him dearly :)

~Enjoy!

Mike aka "Cockswell"
