Fat
I have a rooster that when brought to my yard felt like a million bucks. He just felt right in my hands. Healthy as an ox. Well I've been feeding him a potted meat can worth of feed for a couple months now and he feels like he's put on atleast 3 maybe 4 ounces of fat. I've cut the feed in half which is what worries me. Is it normal for a solid bird to gain fat off of so little feed? I know I will probably have to scratch it off of him but I was just curious how much feed a man could cut without actually hurting a bird. I've not really heard of folks feeding less than a potted meat can a day so I was suprised by his weight gain... any tips or thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Zack

The moult
I've been to a few yards lately and everyone's roosters seem to be a bit farther along than mine right now. Most say they use rooster booster or red cell or something along those lines. I bought a gallon jug of equine red cell today and was just wanting people's opinions on the best way to feed it without hurting your birds. An old man told me to much and your birds will look so healthy there lil red heads will look like they're about to explode but they can't win ribbons like that. I don't really want it for performance as I prefer all natural. I got it in the hopes someone would have a way of getting just enough in them to help there feathers along. Any help or feedback would be appreciated. I hear rooster booster is great but none of my towns 3 feed stores carry it so red cell is the best i can do.
Another question on my mind is fish oil. I've heard it's great for feathers so was just curious if a man could do anything with the fish oil capsules you can get from any market or drug store, and if you have tried it how did you dosage it?

Bored or cull worthy or problem or normal??????
Have a 7 month old gerrard stag up to this point has seemed to b very stable.until the last week til currently.when he starts crowing he chops the last bit off and starts running like yellow jackets or something was after him. That's in his pen!!! I LET him out this morning and when he crowed he just broke and run about 65yds like he had seen a Godzilla sized cock!!! Anyone had this problem?? Input would b welcomed!!!
